About NIBI

The need of a separate campus for NIBI was felt since 1991

HISTORY of NIBI

We listen to your deepest thoughts so that we can help them take form.

In 1988, a group of committed brethren, with the burden and vision to help the people both spiritually and socially, formed a society in Delhi, under the Societies Registration Act. In the same year, their prayerful conviction led the brethren to start North India Bile Institute at Alwar. The founding members of NIBI were Dr. Silas C. Nair, Mr. T. J. Joseph and late Dr. C. V. Baby.

The need of a separate campus for NIBI was felt since 1991. The Lord in His time provided a campus which is only 3 km away from the Bus Stand and 2 km from the Railway Station. God made this possible by the sacrificial contribution of the Brethren. The Campus is Registered in the name of the Steward Association in India, Bangalore.

So far about 130 students from different States of the country have graduated from NIBI and over 105 of them are in the ministry which has resulted in the establishment of more than 80 new assemblies in the vast land of India.

About
Alwar

Alwar is one of the oldest cities in Rajasthan. Paradoxically, the city is also the most recent of the Rajput kingdoms. Its traditions can be traced back to the realms of Viratnagar that flourished here around 1500 BC. Alwar is famous for its majestic fort and its delicious milk cake.

NIBI
Purpose

The Great commision of the Lord Jesus Christ is "Go ye therefore and make disciples of all the (Mt.28:18). To know the Love of Christ is the great need of the Modem India. The population of India has crossed 110 crores and it increases every day by 45000. There is neither a Christian service nor even a preacher in 5,50,000 villages out of the 600,000 villages of India. Soew and spiritual needs of the nation pose great challenges as well as opportunities for every Christian in the service of the Lord. The North India Bible Institute was founded to fulfil the Great commission of the Lord by preparing young men to be servant-leaders who obey the Lord in witnessing the Love ofChrisL as well as serving the society as responsible citizens.

Doctrinal
Statement

We believe that “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God”, by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that the holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of the scripture. We believe that this Divine Inspiration extends equally and fully to all the parts of the writings – Historical, Poetical, Doctrinal and Prophetical – as appeared in the original manuscripts...

Social Concern

Education

NIBI is involved in various social works. It has started an educational institution in Mewat, a backward area in Alwar district. Most of the people in Mewat are illiterate. Drop-out rate is high among the students in the schools. We persuade parents to send their children to the school.

Relief Work

During the Gujarat tragedy, NIBI supplied food, medicine and clothes to the badly affected villagers before anyone could reach them.

Medical Camps

NIBI conducts "FREE HEART CHECK UP CAMP" in Alwar, as there is no cardiologist in the city. It also plans for a MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC with AMBULANCE service in order to reach remote villages that are without medical facilities.

Location

Rajasthan is the largest state in India. Alwar is one the district headquarters of Rajasthan, and it is situated in the north¬east part of the State. Alwar is surrounded by the Aravali Hills (A hill range that divides Rajasthan roughly into third and two-thirds). Sariska wild life sanctuary, Bala-Quila and Siliserh etc. are well known tourist attractions. Name Alwar, some hold, is derived from the Salva tribe and was originally Salwapur, then, Salwar, Halawar and eventually Alwar. Another view is that, formerly Alwar was Aravalpur or the city of Aravali (hills). Some others hold that city is named after Alava' Khan Mewati. According to one research, Maharaja Alaghraj, second son of Maharaja Kakil of Amer ruled the area in the eleventh century and his territory extended upto the present city of Aiwar. He founded the city of Alpur in 1049 A.D. after his own name which eventually became Alwar. It was formerly spelt as Ulwar but in the reign of Jey Singh the spelling was changed to Alwar. Alwar city is located almost in the centre of the geographical triangle created by three ancient cities of prominence- namely, New Delhi, Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Mathura (UP).
